Ha I'm in the same situation at the moment, a bit too similar for my liking..

I've never shared with anyone who I didn't know beforehand so this is shaping up to be quite an experience, sounds like I should steer clear if live-in landlords then!
 
I got bored of this post about a third of the way through and stopped reading. Thats impressive that is, you should consider writing an epic teen fantasy novel about vampires.

I'm disapointed with this thread.

I expected you to claim that you were not racist after clearly making a racist comment, and then everyone would flame you.

But you didn't.

2. You're ready to rent a home with someone that is your semi-ex?
Does this not ring alarm bells of instability in the relationship, could swing either way, you could be left with paying £600-700 pcm if things turn for the worst (hope not but got to bear that in mind)

Not quite, his semi-ex is a live in landlord, but he wants to move in to a flat where there are no live in landlords. She has got offended by that and called him racist.

She needs a good ****punt if you ask me !!
 
saying i do not want to live with black people because they smell might be racist, but but what you have above is just a silly bint, who needs to be fully-ex, rather than semi.
 
The girl is utterly utterly stupid. Wanting to rent your own place or live with a live-in landlord is completely personal preference. Choosing the former is in no way whatsoever some kind of attack on live-in landlords! Wtf? I'd suggest you'd be better off making someone like that a full-ex.

it's our first argument to be fair so I'm not going to judge her on this - but it did annoy me when I know she's just going to go and complain to her friends about it. I think that's the thing that bothers me about it - hopefully her friends will can see it from an unbiased view

on a side note - cheers for the comments, I needed to hear all this - I was laughing last night out of desperation and hope that she would understand but now it's more "yeah she's being stupid - move along" :)

ahh ok no worries. We've had it advertised on the gummytree, spareroom and flatmate sites but no interest so far. another 3 weeks and we're gonna have to pay the excess rent. Ouch
