As title, really. I spent ages on here and at head-fi finding my first pair of 'proper' IEMs. I opted for Visang R02s which were great, but they've broken after only 2 months. The right ear connection at the 'split' has come loose and takes about 10mins of jiggling to get any sound out of it :(

I see a lot of recommendations for the Klipsch X1s, but they look like they stick out way too much. Also Soundmagic PL21/30s, but there's a lot of negative comments on the build quality. Something which I'm going to be very careful with after my Visangs!

Any other ones to look out for? Thanks.

I have the X1's and for the price they're some of the best in their price range. They do stick out more than normal IEMs but it's nothing to be concerned about. One thing I need to mention though is initially they appear to be low build quality, the cable (usually the first thing to break for me) is extremely thin and normal life expectancy for IEMs for me is about 2-3 months. These have been going for about 7-8 months now and still work perfectly!

I've had some Shure SE115 and they've always sounded nice for going gym/constantly being used.

They're also quite a bit more than £30!

That's what really annoyed me about my Visang's breaking. The cable was so much thicker than anything else I've ever seen. Absolutely typical that it would break on me! :(

Any other recomendations? I'm really worried that the extra weight on the X1s (only due to them sticking out a lot) would mean they'd fall out a lot. I'm just not convinced!

Reid and Heath Accustics MA350's are grand at £29.99. Best cheap headphones I have ever heard. Reghardware rates them fairly well too. Good reviews on most other websites as well.

I know of at least one etailer selling them at £40.

If detail is your thing rather than bass then for £30ish my money would be on the MEElectronics A151. For bass other people will know better than I do.

My kids managed to break their X1s in about 2 months

Thanks for the recommendations guys. A guy I work with couldnt recommend the Sennheiser CX300s enough, he literally almost made me buy them there and then! Any thoughts on those, they seem to get mixed reviews

What sites should I be looking at for opinions? Head-fi is good but it doesnt half lag when browsing (too many ads!) I just get bored :p

The CX300s are without a doubt the worst IEMs I've ever heard. Mine were definitely genuine and I've heard multiple sets (so not just a manufacturing issue with a single batch). They have absolutely no detail in the bass, it's nothing more than a mess, mids are poor at best and highs don't exist... For the price you shouldn't be expecting anything amazing but they are terrible for their price bracket and totally put me off of the lower priced Senns.

Thanks. Without meaning to offend anyone they seem to cater for the rather uninformed crowd that believe a big boomy bass means they are good!

Better off buying something from jaben or mp4nation takes 2 weeks to arrive but is marked as gift and is safe.

Right. After far too much research (why do I always go round and round when looking at things like this? ) I've gone for the soundmagic e10s. Shame I couldn't find the A151s anywhere for less than £45 as they would have been my first choice. I shall report back with opinions :)

at that price you prob wont find any remaining Radiopaq Jazz's so youre best bet is look to the Meelectronics range and read up what style suits you most
