Got my MOT booked tomorrow but earlier today the brake pad light came on amd it will prob take me a few days to get them replaced

Is this an issue for the MOT ?

if the brake has sufficent wear then that is a fail so it depends how much meat is left ont he pads for the light to come on, id have thought a failure will be on its way if the light is accurate

My car passed its MOT the other week with 4 seperate warning messages. They said the MOT doesn't cover warning lights etc

Don't know what the official line is though

I would imagine the light comes on well before they become dangerous

Minimum pad thickness is 1.5mm so unless it's down that far, it won't fail - light or no light.

If it was the ABS warning light then you'd expect a fail.

The only way you will get a fail is if the thickness is too low or the brakes perform poorly on the roller test. They will (should) ignore the pad warning light as long as they don't assume its the ABS one!
