Hi all,

A bit of a long shot, but could anyone in the Staffs/Walsall area could keep an eye out.. my Dads 320d in Alpine White was stolen this morning off the drive (Scrotes walked in after my Dad let the cat out and took the keys) - Reg is DN10 WPW.

Please email me at [email protected] or Mail in Trust.

Cheers

Ill keep an eye out mate, im always in that area. May be worth searching some of the local cruising forums etc as it wont be the first time that a stolen car had cropped up in the pictures.

And I'm talking from experience.

I'm already scouring StreetRace as we speak. They have a rather large group in Cannock. I do think it's possibly on fire somewhere on the Chase by now :(

Company car isn't it? Shrug and let them take care of it, the biggest issue is which colour to order the replacement in, or whether to wait a month and order an F30.

A white 320d should stand out, so I'll definately keep an eye out.

You can be such an ass sometimes Fox. What is the harm in trying to get people to look out? Stranger things have happened.

Go crawl back in your corner.

You've got to admit though, it's hardly some rare exotic car, and if it's a company car, surely the hassle for your dad is minimal at best, whilst you wait for a courtesy car to turn up.

I do hope it all turns out well for you.

Bad form.

Seriously? Come on, he's asking us to look out for a car that BMW have sold in absolutely record numbers since its released. Every other corporate company car is a 320d - nobody is going to spot it, it doesn't stand out. It's not like those threads you get where somebodies pride and joy modified Skyline is pinched - they stand out and no amount of money could replace them.

This is a lease car - it's a damn shame it's been pinched, but it's gone, nobody here is going to spot it on the M6 (And even if they did unless they've memorised the numberplate would they even notice?), and it will presumably be sorted out by the insurers with a shiney replacement delivered by the lease company.

It's a real shame its been pinched but frankly I think my sarcastic/amusing quip was hardly out of place :p The very fact everyone realised it was sarcastic highlights my point - I actually phrased it in a polite way, yet you all knew I was being sarcastic because, well, deep down you are all thinking the same thing as me and you know it :p

Some things are not worth getting bent out of shape about and the theft of your company car is one of them. It's one of the key benefits, infact, of having such a car - nothing that happens to it is really your problem and you benefit from huge peace of mind as a result.

The man speaks the truth, but for all we know so far it COULD be his own car... I know it probably isn't but hey...

I'm pretty sure if my car was stolen due to my leaving my front door open, my insurance company wouldn't give me a penny. Just hope this isn't the case with the OP.

that refers to leaving the keys in the car, not in your house

the whole insurance payout hinges on reasonable negligence and its not remotely clear cut

Surely leaving a front door open would be gross negligence? Every insurance company I've ever dealt with has only had one aim in mind: pay out as little as possible.

ahh but he didn't leave it open all day, it was a very brief window (door :p) of opportunity, as I said it's all open to interpretation and the key thing to prove or disprove is the mighty 'reasonable negligence'
