Decisions decisions....

What will be best for gaming, movies, documentation and just general PC usage?

Are the 1 Year limited warrantys a safe purchase, i.e can these have issues such as dead / irregular operating pixels?

Cheers guys. :p

I have both the U2711 and an acer S243h (TN panel), and surprisingly the U2711 is more responsive (subjectively) than the acer for gaming. Not competition level of course, but I've found it fine for FPS. And it's a very good deal :) Some have said the AG coating doesn't take the finer pixel pitch of the 27" into account and they should've used a finer grain. I have to agree with this, but it is still one hell of a monitor.

very subjective mixed reviews. I know if i purchased the 27" i will be wishing i bought the 30".

Since the 27" monitors pixel density is much more compressed and of a higher ratio to the inches of the screen comparing to the 30" i bilieve text will also look better on the 30?

Aye but if i couldnt stretch to the £1100 for it i would have got the 27" so really if you can afford the 30" i cant see any reason to get the 27" the U3011 is immense in every way and gaming i find is fine.

I have the 30 LCD and its not noticeble at all !

Yeap you will need a powerful GPU for gaming at 2560 x 1600. I had to upgrade to a 6990 !

Well I am comparing it to a 2707 which does not have any anti glare and while it is there, I don't think its as noticble as some would say

If you don't need lots of connectivity maybe look for a used 3007? I bagged one for £450 a while back, still had the protective wrapping on it! Wonderful so far and wouldn't want to go back to anything smaller.
