Games that got critical acclaim but you hate?

WoW - most antisocial game on earth.

Always gives me chuckles when this retarded opinion comes up - I've spent most of my time in WoW playing with the same group of mates, people I wouldn't have met outside of the game, and having a good time doing it. We'd chat, raid, drink & have a laugh while my sister sits downstairs on her own reading a book, and apparently I'm the antisocial one. Last guild (Ban's Hammer - OcUK reroller's guild, or at least started out as such) had a great bunch of people involved, we had a guild meet holiday down in Newquay which was a riot and I met my current girlfriend playing WoW. Exactly what part of that is antisocial?

Yes, you could go on to describe the pasty-faced dweebs who play for 18 hours a day and never socialise outside of the game, but that's a reflection on the person, not the game. If you're having issues maintaining a social lifestyle because of WoW, I'd say it's more your failing than anything else.

Bioshock- I liked the setting, thought the story running through the game was great and told in an interesting way........ But I thought the gameplay was boring and I found completing the game a real drudge.

Oblivion
Bioshock

I enjoyed Fallout 3 initially, but after enough hours it went the way of Oblivion for me (unsurprisingly)

GTA4, CoD after 2, Minecraft.

WoW - most antisocial game on earth.

Must have been playing it wrong :D Social interaction is at every turn. You'd have to really try to be antisocial. Fair enough if you don't like a game but that's an odd ill-thought out reason.

Everything about your post screams Antisocial Geek................

So you would drink and have a laugh over the computer but your sister who reads is antisocial.

You then meet your girlfriend over World Of Warcraft what was you chatting her up down the mic.

having GUILD meets............i mean wtf

My point was that it's not antisocial - I've made good friends and snagged a girlfriend through WoW, let alone the hours I've spent chatting to people I know well. I'll happily admit to being a massive geek - playing WoW is only a very small part of that - but I'm hardly antisocial. WoW is a small part of my social life, but I wouldn't play if I didn't play with other people, so again, what part of that is antisocial?

Also, yes - guild meet was geeky. We still had a right laugh, went out to a club or two, spent most days on the beach, drank very large quantities of beer and dodged an awful lot of questions about how we all knew each other. It was a thoroughly successful, enjoyable holiday. Why is that antisocial?

Yeah Deadbeat, actually meeting people you game with! You could have caught something. And getting to know someone before they became your girlfriend, what the HELL were you thinking! :D

I hated 8 and 7 wasn't a load of fun on both full attempts I gave it (pc and playstation).

I do have 4 on the ds though, again hasn't gripped me yet :(
