Anyone here from the UK got them? Just trying to get a price range, I heard it's £100 per tooth but I hope it's cheaper.. I'm due 5 fillings tomorrow

Excuse my ignorance but isn't Mercury liquid at room temperature? Do Mercury fillings exist?
It's liquid as a pure element, not when bonded to other things though. The amalgam in the NHS fillings has some mercury in them yes. My private white fillings were £55 each, although they weren't very big.

twice a day, the tooth doesn't hurt but the dentist took an xray and apparently i need 5 fillings, one mercury filling i can cope with, but 5 fillings constantly giving off mercury fumes for the rest of my life... kinda worries me..

Aye well charges range depending on the place.
Did they not provide you with an estimate of the cost of each? Surprising they did not.
Our whites range from 50-85 where suitable to be placed, and the size of the restoration.
-doesn't matter how often you brush, that will help with gum disease and tartar, but the amoutn of fillings you need is directly related to the frequency of sugars you injest.
Cut down the sugar frequencies, and you'll limit future required restorations.

Yea i won't be drinking any sodas anymore, i did stop for a year but the damage has been done.

Personally, I think you're worrying about nothing with amalgam fillings. I think you're taking what you've heard on the internet a bit too seriously.
Although, might be worth getting a second opinion on your teeth. 5 fillings is a bit excessive, especially if you've got no tooth ache. Too many shark dentists out there. I've been ripped off in the past, I know numerous people who have also been ripped off and read plenty about it on here. My last dentist told me I needed a suite of fillings but I couldn't afford to get them done at the time (or something) so I left it. That was 10 years ago now. I've since moved and changed dentists and my current one says there's nothing wrong that needs fixing.

If they have taken radiographs, hey can point the holes out to you, it isn't difficult to see with modern digital imaging.
Its also easy to rack up the required fillings, if fizzy drinks are involved, if they are small then good, they've been caught in time.

I cant see how having mercury in your system, which cannot get out, will ever be a good thing. Luckily I do take supplements, lots of Vitamin C,D,E,K and also Kelp tablets to keep my Iodine levels up which protects your immune system while Fluoride and Chlorine work to weaken it.
These dentists are taught that X fixes Y and that's all they need to know, they're taught all about how poisonous it is and how to handle it, it's illegal for them to dump it but it's somehow fine to put it in a persons mouth. Seems a little strange. It's just a shame alternative dentists cost so much

Well there are groups of dentists who are working with the U.N to phase out mercury fillings, by 2020 we will most likely see change.. but it's a long wait.. if it was minuscule I doubt many people would care enough to fight for decades with the U.N to get it changed.

Stay off the fluoridated water, read about the poisons that damage your body, and don't make troll comments at people who want a healthy body. If you want a nice cocktail of Fluoride, Chlorine and Mercury because Government says it's ok, good for you.

There are non-BPA fillings starting to circulate, but I doubt it's going to be in any local dentist in my area, probably have to travel to London. But yea that's pretty bad

But my experience with biochemistry isn't limited to what "the government says is ok".
