Entered a competition at a festival and won a 3DS

I'd say b. Yes, you'll get less for a used one if you do sell it, but it's not like you paid for it, so it's still free money, or a free 3DS if you like it. Win/Win.

Any games you fancy playing on the 3DS if not I'd sell it, maybe wait for a hardware revision?

After seeing that weird second analogue stick addon for the 3DS I'd be inclined to sell and wait for the inevitable revision. I hope when the Vita launches there'll be a trade-in deal for 3DS's because I'll be straight down the shops with mine.

I would say if your gonna sell it, do it sooner rather than later,
Nintendo products tend to be top price only for a few months or til they hit a certain margin, then the price plummets.
Look at the N64, was £249 in the UK @ launch for 6 weeks, then went down to £149 and everyone went ballistic lol
I remember a similar story with the Wii

Sell it to a mate, then you can try it when they buy it :p

Congrats on the win either way

I'd be tempted to sell it. I've heard nothing but bad things about the 3DS and other than the old N64 remakes I'm not sure there is much on there to keep you interested. The recent massive price drop should indicate how well the 3DS is currently doing.

I don't think it's the console itself which is bad, more that there are virtually no decent games to play and we've been waiting over half a year for some. So far only Zelda is the must have title and now we are hearing about an ugly attachment for a second analogue stick which drastically changes the way the console works and will almost surely mean that the revised 3DS model will include this built into the console.

I remember the N64 pricing fiasco. In Japan, thousands of units were returned to stores after gamers completed the one available title.

I think the Wii held at its rrp for at least two years however. Nintendo struggled to keep up with demand for at least two Christmases.

OP, sell it and wait for the inevitable 3DS lite, unless you're in a rush to play the exclusives right now? :)
