Sat in a Lexus LFA today.

Can't say I really like it. Looks like every other Japanese sports car, the rear end is a bit ugly and the inside is shocking - I certainly wouldn't call it a Supercar though technically it is. £350 grand for that? There's better and cheaper out there and I don't think it would be in my lottery top 10 :)

I'd imagine a chunk of that price tag goes toward the laser guided loom that spans the entire car monitoring /everything/ :p

Exterior - generic at best these days.

Interior - []http://forum.i3d.net/attachments/of...e_thing_u_will_ever_see-s600x480-89034.jpg[/]

Sound - meh

I don't know why people keep commenting so brashly on the exterior when it comes to cars like this. It's been designed from an engineering point of view, every panel is shaped to direct air around it and toward the tail end. It's not been made to look as pretty as an Aston or whatever else that has curvier styling.

Edit*
NathWraith hit it on the head!

Supercar performance, F1 car noise and Japanese Transformer like appearance = :D

Right up until someone rolls up in their Lambo/Ferrari/Porsche/"insert super car here" that cost half the price but looks and sounds better...

Besides... (to quote Top Gear) it's still a Lexus...

Wait, did you just say SOUNDS better?

I don't know of any other car sounding better than a car that sounds like a screaming F1 car

Anyway, all the LFA driver would have to do is drop a window and say "MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD PAL, LEXUS!" and then whizz off at 9000RPM.

I think it's over Preston Farm. I bought my ST220 from the one over Stainton way and the showroom looks a lot different :p

Yes it was Preston Farm, i went over to the Audi garage and saw the poster saying the LFA was there for a week from yesterday, so naturally, had to take a look.

I'm going to say, i actually don't mind the interior, i love the seats, there are things in strange places though (lights). But everything is functional and very Lexus, feels well built too as you'd expect. However, if i had £353k to spend on a car, i'd buy an Audi R8 V10 spyder first and save £200k. (my personal favourite car atm).

LOL right after someone goes... so how's your $370K Toyota treating you?

h
i seriously doubt anybody you would care about would take that opinnion.

Most petrolheads will know what the LFA is and appreciate it.

This,

I can;t see anyone who has an ounce of sensibility in their mind making such a statement to an LFA owner let alone wanting to race one in their Porsche or whatever?

IMO the owner will enjoy driving it, everyone else will enjoy appreciting it.

Except for those on internet forums who will mock it for being a Toyota :p

Better, yes
Cheaper, very yes
Both: no

The only production car that can get round the ring faster (not including the radical as its not a proper car) is the £400,000 gumpart Apollo Sport.

You mean like when people ridicule the Audi Murcielago or the VW Veyron? :P

Reminds me of the top gear driving roads sketch where Clarkson in the lambo pulls up next to hammond in the porsche

Hammond: "Hows your Audi"

Clarkson: "Fine thanks, Hows your beetle"

Sound is a personal thing really.

Some like the sound of a flat six from a porsche that makes a "vffff wish wash" noise from launch

Some like the V10 in Lambo's that make a high pitched scream noise.

Some like the naturally aspirated V8 rumble you get from AMG Mercedes.

Horses for courses.

How about you take the standard LFA lap time by Horst Von Saurma

7:38

vs

Porsche 911 GT3 RS driven by the same guy

The only people who worry about someone saying "oh have you bought the Lexus/Ford/Nissan" when they drive a super car are the kinds of people who can't afford one and are projecting their current insecurities, and probably will never be able to afford one.

This is the kind of person who I am guessing that kind of humour is aimed at during Top Gear, as its a way of levelling with the mass population who watch it who will never drive these kinds of cars unless they spend 1/4 of their monthly pay cheque on an "experience" day.

Can see the appeal from an engineering point of view, much like the GTR. Both of which I absolutely love and certainly wouldn't mind having a go in them.

Have to lol at asking for a test drive. But hey, you don't ask, you don't get :p You probably would have fainted if they'd said yes.

Haha, i wasn't being serious, and they knew it, in the same sense that i told them i'd order 2 of them!

Just watched the top gear review again, i really love this car now, and it might be a Lexus, but it's a Lexus in the same way a Ford GT is a Ford, (obviously not the same type of car, but as a brand) lol, how's your ford!
