Hoping to part exchange my 260 card for somit better or sell for 45 quid and just pay another 40 quid ish for a new card so if no part exchange then about 80 quid ish for a new card.

Is the 460 1gb version the best i can get or somit newer like a 5xx series that is about same price and performance of the 460 second hand.

Nvidia options only.

Keep in mind i will be getting from MM so NOT new.

I think the 5830 is pretty good. I was advised the 5830 a few months back for that price range. It was a nice card

What is MM?

Nvidia only? Well see if you can grab a 560 Ti, should be a nice upgrade from your 260. Otherwise just go for the 460 1gb if you can't grab a 560 Ti.

MM = Members Market. You need to have 250 posts and been a member for 90 days, then enable trust on your profile.

Ah thanks very much

If you have a meaty PSU and don't care about DX11 you could consider the GTX 295. I'm installing mine tonight. :D

Hmm using that link for comparing, it seems not much fps increase from my 260 to the 460 only 10 or so on mass effect 2, the only game from the list i have.

Mainly be playing world of tanks and probably deus ex HR and few other games.

Maybe i need to hold off the upgrade till theirs a decent mid range card i can get 2nd hand for under £100 that will double my fps instead of just add 10-20 fps.

You need to factor in that driver updates will have added improvements since the time of when the benchmarks were written. However, maybe it would be good if you could aim a bit higher than a 460, having come from a 260. :)

Well my budget would be 100 quid but thats for a used card which is a good amount i think as id have to sell or trade in the 260 to get 45 ish and put the 55 or so on to that to make it about 90-100.

So far 460 or 560ti (not sure how much the go on MM for tho) is possible ideas so far. Unless theirs a card i duno about which is around 100 for it used. And as said before no ati cards as i just dont like em after having used em before.

A 560ti, if you can go to it, would be a worthwhile upgrade. They overclock very well, as indeed do the 460 and 560's. The latter would still provide a noticeable improvement but in some situations not necessarily as much as you might have expected. Don't forget the nVidia refurb deals and keep an eye on the clearance lines, you can pick up some great bargains there. :)

Hmm looking at ocuk prices the ti version of the 560 is about 170 minimum compared to normal 560. What exactly does the ti version do that the non ti version cant do as technical spec wise their the same.

A 2nd hand 560 might be under 100 or 90 quid but i doubt the ti versions would be.

Expensive for them 48 extra shaders. Wonder if its worth it or would overclocking (easily) it gain the fps up to ti levels.

See what you can pick up in the members market. A 460 or 560 will still be a fair upgrade. It's not just maximum frame rates that are the most important, minimum and average fps will probably mean more to you at the end of the day. Just make sure to overclock it, both models are known to be great clockers.
