what to wear to the theatre

going to the apollo victoria tomorrow evening but ive no idea what to wear.

i was planning on going gray suit/white shirt/black skinny tie.

does everyone still go in suit and tie or is it a bit more casual?

Shirt and trousers, or smart jeans and a shirt. :)

No need for a tie or a suit jacket. But nothing wrong with looking suave! :)
 
If you are going to wear a tie though, don't do black with grey.

edit: I should probably say that this is a personal opinion and not to be taken too seriously.
 
Last time I went a few years back I went smart casual.

Trousers (not jeans) and a plain shirt with no tie and jacket.

Smart casual for musicals is usually the wisest choice, although people tend to turn up in all sorts of stupid clothes without making any effort. Just wear whatever you want.
 
problem is i dont own any trousers :p

i also dont own smart jeans.


i could go suit with tie/no tie or jeans and t shirt :p i dont own anything for a middle ground :p
 
I've seen people in shorts and t-shirts. If you were going to an opera it may be a bit different with more effort required but I really wouldn't worry about it.
