Nice gesture TBid and I'm sure the OP will enjoy it. If nothing else it's nice to see the positive side of the forums once in a while, it reminds me why I'm here... the community, not free stuffs.
I suppose to (maybe) avoid criticism it didn't need to mention anyone by name but then again probably the first question would have been "so who was it then?"...
Well this is GD, I wouldn't expect any thread to go to plan in here.
Brian, if you don't like it, then stop coming into the thread bleating about it, just leave it alone.

Nice gesture IMO.
Just shows how good the community is here.![]()

We'll be swapping spit and ******* in each others boots if this carries on.

It's a big community, few muppets but overall a great community![]()
Nothing wrong with thank you threads on OCUK, it just shows what a kind community we have, and like Tbid has said it will only encourage other users to follow suit.
I'd like to raise the point that AVForums have a superb "thanks" system built in.
Worth a mention to the admins?
Recently made a thread in the sound city sub forum asking for advice on a sound card, a few posts in i was offered a very kind gesture, a brand new Asus Xonar DG for no more than postage, needles to say i was very garcious and accepted, all he has asked for is a quick note in GD saying thank you so
Thank you Tbid for your very kind act, i shall make very good use of it and pass on the generosity when i come to change it.
Yes the people in this forum can be very generous as I found out a few years back when this forum managed to bring me to tears.
The woman I was with at the time her daughter badly wanted a PC for Christmas but there was no way we could afford one for her.
The members of this forum pulled together and from all their spare bits piece by piece they put her together a really good system for the time. Even OcUK themselves donated the motherboard for it.
Things like this always make me smile now as it just reminds you the world has not totally gone to hell when people can still step up and help total strangers
