It's not so much anger at people questioning the status quo.I find it confusing how conspiracy theorists can make people so mad.
"Grrrr, complete NUTJOBS dare to question the status quo? HOW DARE THEY. TINFOIL HAT TINFOIL HAT REPTILIANS NUTJOBS GRRRRRRR."
It's everything that goes along with it. People reposting the same old debunked theories over and over again. Those involved in propagating these theories make little or no effort to make things right when they make inaccurate claims or misrepresent facts.
The 9/11 conspiracy theory scene became a conflict of vested interests. People choose sides, and which side you are on determines how you view every piece of evidence. Nobody wants to admit they're wrong, so many conspiracy theorists begin deliberately twisting facts to support their argument.
In amongst all the people who are rational thinkers and have simply been misled by slick productions such as 'Loose Change', there are the radical skeptics. They ask questions about the collapse of 7 World Trade Center, you point them to the NIST report. They refuse to so much as read it, dismissing it out of hand as government propaganda. You present to them eyewitness accounts that contradict their claims. The eyewitnesses must have been paid off.
You can bring a conspiracy theorist's entire theory crashing down around them, and they will just stand there in the rubble insisting they are correct. That is why it is frustrating.
