9/11; Never forget.

The whole affair just makes me /sigh to be perfectly frank. Of all the atrocities that occur in this world, constantly, everywhere you would think people would want to forget more than celebrate them.

It's the whole LOOK LOOK TODAY IS THE DAY X HAPPENED mentality that does my head in. People should do what they want, in their own way where it actually means something. Threads like these annoy me.

9/11 WOOO +1

Why cast a spotlight over the people who were affected and plaster it all over televised media, papers. So everyone can have a real feelgood getting involved warm fuzzy feeling? It sucks it happened, it sucks people lost lives but it did not affect me and I won't for a second pretend it did like it has for some people. I think it's somewhat disrespectful.

F*ck just been to hell and back watching United 93 .... I wonder if someone bigger than Big Albert ever stood up to Bush and told him the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia and not Iraq ... my nerves are shattered , don't normaly drink vodka raw but I'm making an exception after that .....

@attention seeking/drunk/drugged up phil128 : EMO? 2 beautiful daughters, 1 beautiful wife , big house , 3 cars , manager at Nissan UK. If that makes me an EMO then fair enough ;)

How is bragging an indication that you're not emo? What have your supposed material possessions, job title and family member count got to do with you not being an emo?

Whut?

This topic really brings out the ass holes!

Both 7/7 and 9/11 were tragic it's that simple, if you can't respect your fellow mans suffering then it's pretty sad.

RIP to all those that lost their lives 10 years ago.

Are all those Iraqi's who died not your fellow men ? surely you can give them a mention too.

It's pretty simple, this is a thread to mark an anniversary when 2,973 people were murdered. If you feel the need to remind others about other tragic deaths then maybe start a thread on that anniversary otherwise stop de-railing the thread.

Nope, sorry you are wrong and quoting an online thesaurus won't save you!

Despite your ignoring the synonyms also listed on thesaurus, how about

Gallows humor (Galgenhumor in German), is the type of humor that still manages to be funny in the face of, and in response to, a perfectly hopeless situation.

Also note:

Gallows humor is made by the person affected by the dramatic situation,[2] an aspect that is missing in the later derivative called "black comedy".[Need quotation to verify]
