protesters burn us flag in london

Not free speech then?
Isn't that the US way? I don't like what you say but I will defend your right to say it?
Anyway we don't have such a law, so theynprobably could be proscuted if being american was a recognised religion.

Earlier a group of English Defence League protesters, who had gathered in response to the demonstration, were ordered to move on to accommodate the MAC supporters.

Just lol.

I don't understand our law to be honest, you can get away with burning another countries flag but as soon as you burn a holy book you get locked up.
On Sunday morning live this morning, they mentioned that Islamic population in Britain is growing 10x faster than the rest, integration is already a large problem so we should really be considering tightening up our borders to stop Islam growing too fast. The worse that can happen is Islam influencing politics, it's happening in other countries for example in Australia I think that Muslims who come into the country are allowed two wives. ( I can't recall if this is correct, it probably is not).
The figures speak for themselves, I think this is the third time I have mentioned it on here that it's around 62% of British Muslims believe that free speech should be limited to stop the criticism of religion and 50% believe that their wife should obey their orders. Why do we want these kind of people in our society? We are not talking about a minority of Muslims have these opinions, it's a majority.

That's what happens when you start wars in which hundreds of thousands of innocent people die.

I'm just glad to live in a country where people are free to hold such protests.

absolutely disgusting.

they all should be charged for in sighting religious hatred, imprisoned and then deported imo.

Last time I looked the USA wasn't a religion and the US flag wasn't a religious symbol.

If I recall US protesters burned the Union Flag not so long ago, and if Political Protest now constitutes imprisonment and/or being deported (although where you deport UK citizens to is a another question) then we have become no different than the regimes we oppose and the ideologies we purport to be fighting against in the name of freedom and democracy.

Ignore them, you give legitimacy to their idiocy by reacting to it.

Whilst I understand that we are a nation of free speech. I'm sure the majority of the public won't see it like this.

And all its achieved is alienating Muslim communitys even more.

For me personally its more what it represents with it being 9/11. Just wrong imo

Luckily for you and I, we live in a society that allows us to state our opinion on whether they are right or wrong freely, they are making a political statement on their views regarding US foreign policy, a foreign policy that contributed to the acts 10 years ago and continues to add fuel to their ideology, however misplaced and wrong that ideology may be.

I am in no way stating they are right, quite the opposite, however they have the right and we should not support any action that removes that right as it would set the precedent to remove that right from you and I also.

Inciting and communities are the words you meant, for the record.

On topic... A country's flag is not a religious symbol, and while America has (minimally observed) laws against the desecration of their flag, we have no such laws about the desecration of their flag.
