Already joined a few days ago, will message you later about vent details.

Been reading this thread with interest as the game looks like it is going to be good. I think I may be able to set up a server (temporarily anyway), only problem is I won't be able to test it's working as I don't have a copy of the game (and currently can't afford one either) so will need others to test it. I'm waiting to see if the server files get listed on steam (the cmd line version on the ltuk dedi) like the beta ones currently are.

Let me know if you guys want a free temporary server until 5UB gets one up (assuming he is getting one). :)

Is your dedi linux or windows?

No linux support as of yet...

Right im borderline here on this, never played RO and frmo the videos it looked pap to me... but that was a developer playing with AI.

Now with BF3 pre ordered is this game worth it? Im also going to have to share time between PES 12, NBA 2K12 and FM12....but at the same time i love FPS games and this could spice me.

I've pre-ordered BF3, FM12, Fifa 12 and currently playing Trackmania Canyon and a few other games,

I've been playing the beta and from what ive played its been great.

I definitely think it's worth it and with the Single Player modes in this also its great value for money.

Thanks for the reply, whats the community likely to be?

Is there going to be enough to sustain full servers once BF3 comes out? I know they will cater for different crowds, but at the same time its the 'casual' players that beef up the numbers and ensure good full servers.

If people want to play a ww2 shooter then it will most likely be the game of choice, it will also take a good size crowd for being a very good shooter. I wouldn't worry about a lack of players, if people like the game they will still play it even when bf3 comes out, we all play a variety of games.

I've set up the next "RO2 Friday Night Gaming" event in the ocuk ro2 group, same as last week, around 8pm till very late, pm me if you need vent details etc etc, had a good amount last week and I think this Friday will be even bigger and better.

Also will be on tonight for launch, pm me, follow me, join vent etc etc

Cheers, one last question... hip firing, is it useless in this as I believe there is no crosshair? I know accuracy is compromised but even irl and in WW2 people didnt sprint around using iron sights when seiging with a thommy etc You do need that option to blast at someone with a chance of hitting them, even if you dont want to sit behind a wall with a rifle for 35 minutes.

Ok...

I am awaiting a reply from 5UB in the OcUK server thread.

If they are unable to accomodate, I will gladly pony up for our own RO2 server if people are OK with that?

What I need to know is how many of us there are and how many slots we realistically need.

Do we need a 64 slot server realistically?

If we did, my plan would be to have it public and spam it around to get it busy and give OcUk'ers priority and maybe have OcUK only nights perhaps?

Frenchie, I know you have enough on your plate allready, but would mind being one of the admins?

For the price, you could get a whole dedi but a game server would be easier to manage time wise and not my lookout if it goes down :)

Also, I recommend we use the OcUK mumble server as it makes sense for OcUK'ers to use the OcUK mumble server if we are playing together, and mumble rocks :)

Worst case Scenario, we will have somewhere to call home by this evening :)
