I saw that post on MacRumors and it made me chuckle too.

I wouldn't be suprised if they did go for a gesture based home button and its something I would like to see. I think they might be moving towards that way, especially with Lion bringing in new gestures and moving towards that idea.

Really can't wait much longer lol.
I have an iPhone 3G which is sloooow and have been able to upgrade for a while now.

Must.... be.... patient..

my pet budgie is excited about Apples new garden focused HQ in Cupertino and flew back a few days ago.. Basically he can only go off what he's seen through the window but its gonna be
New iPhone
Likely to be better than than current iPhone 4 so maybe more memory and a faster processor.
Possibly higher resolution
Slightly thinner
no reception issues (dunno how he knows this)
Bigger screen maybe.

Very likely to be called iPhone 5.

........ Knows more than that guys father for sure..

Anyone checked the local Cupertino papers for a sacked Apple engineer? :D

A5 and 512MB are pretty likely. The rest is nonsense. Sounds like the smart money is on an revision then (like the 3G to the 3G - better processor, RAM, maybe a better camera and that's about it).

Shame - I don't like the idea of the glass back - but I'll be getting one anyway. If it was that small an upgrade I'd have much more seriously considered getting a 4 six months ago (it was only really the glass back that stopped me).

Still, I'm picking up an iPad tomorrow so whatever. :D

Hopefully Tesco Mobile get the IP5 quickly. They had some very good 12 month deals with the IP4.

Has anyone noticed that on the official Apple UK website the price of the IP4 has increased? That's a bid odd isn't it.

It's increased since release, but it hasn't increased recently to my knowledge. I know the 16GB has been sat at around £510 for a while.

Pretty much everytime I get the email pushed to my iPhone at the same time Mail chimes to say a new one has arrived or MSN pops up with a new message.

At worst it will be a second or two slower, how instant do you want it :p

nope that is good enough for me. Does it work with pop3 as well?

I believe the reason blackberries are thought to be better with email is because in enterprise environment, they have dedicated BES servers to sync with. I think for your average consumer, you wont see any difference because you dont have that feature.

Having got a BlackBerry 9900 fairly recently, I much prefer the email on the iPhone.

As stated, the BlackBerry BES/BIS servers are one of the reasons email is so popular, and it does work quite well. Having said that, I thought the email software itself was a bit bland and doesn't support some email formats and was a bit of a pain.

has anyone heard anything a about new ipod touches coming out along with the IP5?

think our kids are wanting touches for xmas this year so i'd rather hold off is theres a new one out before the big fella in the red suit comes round

^ That's what I keep asking :p It'll probably be delayed from the usual launch schedule but should be available for the Christmas gold rush?

The BB does have that great qwerty though, I'd be typing more emails on it over a touch screen (Luckily I don't need too and can enjoy a large screen for browsing :D)

The keyboard is lovely but in fairness, I can type at a similar speed on the iPhone 4 keyboard (and stuff like Swiftkey on Android).
