Anyone else with a Martin acoustic?

Naffa,

What taylor have you got?

I'm looking at the all solid DN3 for £699
I've got a 214.

I have played a DN3 and they're beautiful instruments, I'm just not as keen on dreadnoughts in general. Honestly though, it's almost a rule of thumb that if you get your Taylor (well most guitars, but Taylor's especially) setup professionally, then setup by yourself, play it to bits, it will turn into the best instrument you've ever owned. I've played so many different acoustic guitars: Martins, Matons, Ovations, Lowdens, Larriveés.. Loads and I've never played one - and we're talking thousands of pounds worth of guitar - that plays as well as mine and is as enjoyable to play.

Any Taylor you buy will be great. ;)

The 414 is a very nice guitar. All I find is that as you start getting into the realms of ~£1,200+ I find it difficult to see where the money goes. A few months back my local shop get a GC6 in stock which was bought new a few weeks before for £2,099. I played it and it was a really really beautiful guitar, but I honestly couldn't figure out why it cost £1,500 more than my guitar. Bar some nice bindings and a nicer finish, it didn't play or sound as nice as mine (obviously to do with the fact it's a lot newer). But if you've got the cash then why not... :p The 414 is a very nice guitar.

Can one of you knowledgeable people give me advice on how you keep your guitars clean, IE finger marks etc.
I have two at the moment, a Ramirez classical and a Raimundo classical electro acoustic.
I only started to learn how to play about 18 months ago when I took early retirement and have notice the finger marks and smudges on the lacquer of both guitars and would appreciate any help on how to clean them safely as I am apprehensive about using Pledge and a duster.

Why the chorus(I think)?

I've never understood effects on acoustics :(

I preferred the taylor to the martin I played at my local shop.

However, I've stuck with my Fender DG14s for 5 years so far :p My only problem with it is I prefer the 24.75" scale length for playability, as my teacher has a custom built one in this scale with a fat neck, and it is unreal how easy it is to play it.

Cause dmpoole has just come clean 3 years later that he doesn't have a Martin.

He has a fake:(

Nothing more but binary 0's and 1's :(

So You don't own a Martin?

Just being poilte...Dead link so I can't listen to it again.

Thought I made your ignore list anyway?

Why the hell would I put anyone on ignore?
Ignore is for babies.
Anyway, I like reading the rubbish you post.

But they caught you out and that's all that matters.
If you had added up the prices of the instruments you would have seen they came to a hell of a lot of money.
I also linked to a pic of my guitars which featured a Variax (I think everybody else got it though).
You were had by technology that you said the other day was crap but best of it Tyler has improved it.

Hardly, You listen blindly in good faith to what you think is a genuine post.

Then its lies.

Nothing can touch real tonewood. If you disagree you're even more full of **** than you think.

:p

I would rather have the real feel and feedback with a Martin vintage series or my feather light D15-M

I once had respect for you on this forum. But the more I read from you the more ***** you spout.

You're not even that good tbh :p

Not a dig its the truth.

ta:)

The main posters in the thread like Naffa knew exactly what I had posted and would also know there was no way on earth I could afford those 3 guitars.

You got caught out by technology that you only said the other day was crap so the joke is on you

I agree with you 100%

Can't disagree with that

I have never claimed to be any good but as long as my bands keep getting booked I'll gladly keep playing.

Now why don't you stop trolling and grow up?

You really believe that? You really do?

Forgive me for not 100% doing a background check on a random post over 3yrs ago to check if it was genuine.

Good, there is a market for mediocre pub bands I guess

Now why don't you stop trolling and grow up?

Posting mis-truths on genuine threads is beyond the T word. You keep going with it and yet it seems its you who is my friend.

You really believe that? You really do?

Yes, you were taken in and nobody else was (well one person)

Oh yeah.

Have you actually ever been out of your bedroom and played to real people like most of us in this thread have?
You remind me of a bloke called Wilf who goes to watch bands every friday & saturday but just slags them off saying he can do better but he's never been in a band.

Then why are you being such an idiot?
If you've really had that experience you should know better.
I am really disappointed that somebody with so much experience acts like a child.
