Just come to renew my insurance on the little bus.

Fiat scudo panor 160 57plate, gave them all my info £1230 down from £1450 last year so not too bad.

Now i have it down as parked in garage which it is, the lady said to me if i put it down as parked on the drive, the premium drops to £835!?!?!

strange?

Not especially so, plenty of cars get damaged due to things falling on them, scraping them whilst driving in etc.

It's also arguable it's easier to steal a car that's in a garage as you can do so completely out of view

It is strange (as is ALL insurance) as I've mentioned before on here how parking my car in a garage reduces mine, and thats with three different companies, they are a law onto themselves.

would say they have their own law, different companies have different customer on their records, so if insurance company A pay out for 80 out of every 100 cars they have garaged and company B pay out for 20 out of every 100 they have on cover, then company B would class the garage as a better risk.

Simples.

I've never understood that. Surely that's a moot point given that getting access to the car in the first place is a damn sight harder?
