Hi guys,

I've had my computer for the past 2 years with no problems what so ever but this morning my computer didn't power up at all.

I've checked the power supply by bridging the green wire and the ground together. The power supply seems to power on all the case fans and graphic card so that doesn't seem to be an issue.

When I connect the 24 pin back to the motherboard, there seems to be a very feint light on the motherboard.

Can you guys suggest anything else I can check?

The specs of my computer is the following:

Motherboard - Gigabyte X58-UD5
CPU - Intel i7 920 @ 3.40ghz (slightly overclocked which was running stable for 2 years)
RAM - 6GB Corsair XMS3
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 295
PSU - Corsair TX750

Thanks in advance :)

Just because your PSU comes on doesn't mean its supplying the correct voltage.

It may well be the motherboard that is at fault but it could still be the PSU. A cheap PSU should be able to confirm either way because if that brings the motherboard to life then you know where the fault lays.

I was planning to buy a cheap generic PSU just to try it before I send it back to Gigabyte.

I connected my power supply to another computer to check if it was a problem with the power supply...ended up booting the computer up.

I connected the power supply back on to my my computer and it powered the computer fine :confused:
