Best way to loan someone money...

Could try trusting her, and if she doesn't cough up, then, well, you know who your friends are when it comes to money.
I'm sure that will be comforting when he's out £999, or however much he's planning to lend her.

Neither a borrower nor a lender be,
For loan oft loses both itself and friend

Lending money to friends and family can become very complicated if what is essentially a business agreement becomes tangled up with a personal relationship.

If you're happy to never see the money again then trust them with it. If it's too much for you to lose then some kind of formal contract/agreement is necessary.

If she's hot then some suitably naked pics to be published on the internet in the event of failure to repay loan should suffice.

High amounts i normaly don't.
I have how ever lend a few hundred quid to two of my mates,(Only certain friends though) which i did get back. And i will have no problem to help them out again if i needed to.

Trust the person. If not, then say no.

Massively depends on the person. I lent my ex >2k for a few months about 6 months after I broke up with her. It was fine. She paid it back on time and I didn't worry about it. So, I'd go with your judgement. Can end badly obviously.

The fact you have to ask for a 'safe guard' says something!
I know id have no issue lending my recent ex the money if i had it knowing full well id get it back when agreed.
If you trust her why not help her out, youd want the same if you were in need.
If you dont trust 100% then dont.

suggest she uses one of those quick quid sites as it will only cost her a few quid in interest over 2 weeks.

or you could have her transfer the ownership of the car to you and you sell it. I would at least be taking goods to the value of the loan which will more than cover it if she doesn't pay. she must have some jewelery, hifi, tv equipment you can take?

probably a standard spec contract you can have drawn up so you could at least persue through the courts and balifs is she doesn't pay although not sure how this works with cash rather than services or products.

otherwise, is she hot, is she good at the rumpy pumpy and is she single? i know she is your ex but £1k for 2 weeks could be money well spent.

oh and what does she need the cash for.?

A close friend of mine has asked if she can borrow some money (<£1000) for two weeks until a bursary comes through/the sale of her car. I'm happy to help her out, but unsure on how to safeguard my money? She suggested a back dated cheque...

How about his: don't lend money to friends you don't trust.

99% of the time when me or someone I know lent big sums of money to friend the money was either never returned, not fully also it usually ends up breaking the friendship.
