Trackmania 2

Gimpy nice work you have done but you need to tone down some of the maps, looks like you have picked some of the more hardcore ones and they can be off putting, it's hard enough me getting used to it coming from tmn i'd hate to think how some of the completely new players are coping:)

Some of the white and green stock nadeo ones are pretyty good for training too.

aye, I played for 3 maps and gave up.

Also am I doing solo play right? My times are being logged as training! How do I get an official time logged?

Remember to up/down vote the maps everyone, then it's obvious which ones are working and which aren't. Certainly are some good ones in there, and some confusing ones.

Once you get a good score in training, I think its whenever you beat your personal best, on the result screen you can go to 'improve' or a similar option, and it will ask if you want to do it in training or official. If you do it official, you only get one go, no respawning or restarting. Complete it and your score is logged. Mess up and you need to beat your personal best again, I think.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works, anyway.

Great games all :)

I think I've now set a record on almost all the courses :) So that's (currently) one leaderboard I'm at the top of ;)

Some less confusing tracks would be good, half of them were "where the hell do we go!?", and I echo the 5-6 mins per track, 4 mins is *just* not enough time (especially for some of the figure-it-out-as-you-go tracks)

Further to my above post, I've done more research. While playing a track in practice mode there will be a clock at the side counting down from 5 minues. Once it reaches zero you can opt to play it 'officially' and have the official time recorded. Then you'll have to play the track for another 5 minutes before trying again. This is to stop people just spamming the track over and over again.

Yeah, theres a few tracks in there which basically require 99% precision, and theres 3-4 hurdles and by the time you've managed the first one the 2nd one is right infront of you and you've no time to react and BAM into a wall or flying off the track.

Its far more fun racing around tracks where you can set a time and then go about improving upon it, rather than spending the entire time trying to figure out the route and get maybe half-way around. It can be a frustraiting game at times, without feeling completely clueless as to where your going. Some tracks just require too much knowledge to be fun from the offset, would be better to have a load of challenging but manageable tracks and the odd tough one which people can learn, but not feel like every track is near impossible and not worth continuing with.
6min would be good, 4min just feels like you've got time to make your mistakes and then change track before you've put a decent lap in, at which point 10 tracks later you've forgotten the layout when you return.

Anyone who was on between 10pm & 2am, were mine and rc10racers skins showing? Pink/Grey/White ones. Would be handy to know whether ive got my head around these locator files or not.

I will mix up the maps and include some more of the standard "race" maps as well but the "puzzle" maps are a TM staple IMO.

I want to keep the server active however it is difficult to have maps which everyone likes. Some people do not like the pure pace maps so need to keep it varied.

Would a 6 minute map time be OK?

I was on at about 1am last night and I seen a pink card flying around,

I assume this is yours :p

As for the tracks I picked a few that I have played and enjoyed there's about 5/6 maps there which I picked just based on comments/awards, I thought it would be better to have a few tracks rather than just the 3 that where rotating.

I guess they might be hard for some people just starting out!

Yeah 6 would be handy for the maps which are 1m> laptimes

So.. I'm guessing the full version is out now? :D I purchased it a few weeks ago for the Beta and haven't been able to play it this week so I've totally forgot when it was suppose to come out!

Yeah if you start up mania planet it will download the retail update, I think mine was about 160mb update,

But if you haven't played in a while it might be in the region of about 400mb

I honestly thought the maps we're a good selection! :confoozed:
Great work btw gimpy. Leave this server up and running for as long as possible :)
