Hey overclockers:
I'm going to purchase 2 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-032-AS&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=

To go with my Samsung SyncMaster B2430 but i'm unsure of the power of this card - I'm looking to run 3 monitors on eyefinity but will this card be powerful enough? I'm on a 450 budget and really could do with saving as much as possible however i obviously want the best performance. The card in question is this : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-039-HS
Any feedback would be helpful please.

no way, i run 2x6950 with 2560 resolution id say unless you only want low settings and play old games no, granted it plays most games fine at max, but does struggle with metro and crysis 2 dx 11, you are looking at 1920x(1080x3) far more pixels and less gfx power than me

get one decent large monitor and a better GFX card

Theres a comparison between the 6870 and the 6950 crossfire, remember with eyefinity you would be running far more pixels than those benches

Not really interested in using one big monitor, i'm not fussed about playing everything on max as in time i can get another card to go with this one and run crossfire - i'm just looking to get medium settings with 3 monitors for now, with smooth FPS.

Well is there any other card that would perform a tad better? I have a crossfire motherboard compatible so that's not an issue for a later date, my budget for the card really is around £150 +/-

im guessing for 150 you would be looking at a used 6950 with warranty left from somebody else, i know nothing of nvidia due to previous past experiences i dont buy from them, hopefully someone else can offer an opinion on them?

Nvidia requires SLI'd GPU's to run 3 monitors for gaming.

I do have a GTX460 currently but i'm assuming adding another wouldn't suffice for the resolution posted above across 3 monitors?

I am not 100% sure but i think you need 2 Nvidia cards to run 3 monitors or 1 gtx 590

One thing for sure though is that GTX460 in SLI (assuming you got the 1GB model) would have much more grunt for running 3 screen than a single 6870...considering 6870 itself is only a bit faster than a GTX460.

Well i'm using the GTX460 Cyclone 768 model slightly overclocked, I "Could" Grab another but was contemplating on buying that 2gig 6950 for 3 way monitoring.

No...SLIing the 768MB model would be a bad idea for 3 screens, as it will lack VRAM quite badly and severely cripple performance.

I think you should just forget about 3 screen gaming, unless you got the money for getting a pair of 6950 2GB.

Well like i said i can grab one now and another in a month or two, a single 6950 2GB can not handle 3 screens even on medium to low settings? That seems awfully redundant.

A single 6950 2GB might be good enough to run source games or some racing games on 3 screens at 30ish fps, but for demanding games it is simply not good enough.

Rather then getting 3 screens and running demanding games on low settings on a single 6950 2GB now, I say you'd be better of just stick to 1 screen and a single 6950 2GB and run games in max settings, and then when you upgrade grab another 6950 2GB SAME TIME as the two extra screens.

Quite possible, however my GTX460 at the moment isn't struggling to play anything on maximum settings, and primarily i'm currently only playing COD MW2 WoW and Unreal Tournament 3, Few racing games like shift but nothing drastic.

In that case you might as well wait for next gen cards before you upgrade, considering this gen's cards are not much faster than last gen's, so you will get more grunt to your money if you would leave your upgrade until next gen.
