Hi guys.

Well, to cut a long story short, my phone has just been stolen in a club (more specifically Project in Norwich). I've spoken to the club managers, and been over the CCTV with the police, but would like to know if there is anyway to track it?

It's an iPhone 4, but I don't have find my iPhone installed etc. The number (if this is helpful) is 07785117804, I have tried calling it, the first and third times it rang but was hung up after about 2 rings. I am offering a reward to anyone who can help me (I'm that desperate :()

Thanks guys...

If you can prove to whatever company you had it contracted to that its yours, i suppose they could help ping its location and the police should be able to do it from there.

Though im not entirely sure.

Thanks, I'll try doing that tomorrow. The phone is on contract and I obviously have the serial number etc, so I'll give that a punt before I get my new tattoo done.

Sorry to hear this, cant you phone the contract company first thing in the morning and see about them tracing it or something like that ?

How did they manage to get hold of your phone without you seeing ?

Without one of the several apps available installed I have no idea. Call your provider, they should be able to trace it, if they support that kind of service of course.

Pretty sure there's no way of tracking the phone yourself unless you're the police/network. Don't have insurance I'm guessing?

And if you know the IMEI code of the phone you can ring up your network and get them to disable the phone so it can't be used at all. But if its found then you wouldn't be able to use it..

I'm pretty sure a network won't agree to try and triangulate a phone that you've lost (it would have to be a police related serious matter for all that). All they will do is block the IMEI number when you report it lost/stolen.

They'd sooner just give you a new one if you have insurance... do you?

Shame you don't have Find My iPhone installed.

I wanna hear the long story. :(

Basically was in karaoke, then went to the main room, discovered phone was missing, went back in karaoke to find the case on the floor, bereft of said phone. Now I'm pretty sure the last place I had the phone was in the karaoke room, so either it's been stolen out of my pocket, case dumped and phone nabbed, or fallen out of my pocket, case dumped, phone nabbed. Either way it's been stolen. The phone itself has an 11 digit alphanumeric passcode, so good luck to them trying to sell it/get into it etc.

My friends, being very helpful, then came out with "either cheer up and carry on partying, or go home". Hmm...

I don't have personal insurance for it, would it be able to go on my mum's home insurance policy?

Not trying to con or anything, I have no idea how those sort of things work.

Well, it's just a phone.

That has 12 months left on the contract, not to mention a lot of pictures and other things that I don't want to lose, among other stuff. It also cost me 120 quid as well as the contract. So yeah, not just a phone. A bloody expensive and important piece of kit, especially as I need it for important contacts, which are saved yes, but they now have no method of contacting me (University for one, they are supposed to be calling me tomorrow)

I take it you didn't want to keep this number then? :p

To be honest mate, I tell everyone I know my number, and it's been signed up to various **** which I have blocked anyway, it's just a piece of information that could help me find the phone at the moment :)

Unless someone was to answer and tell the person where the phone was (unlikely?), it isn't going to be much help unfortunately.

Ah well, it was worth a punt. Is there no geo-location software for phone numbers?

Thanks for the replies guys :)

Fair play, I'll give it a ring then using the old 141 trick, see if anyone answers :)

EDIT: Straight through to Ryans answer phone message informing me that I wouldn't be surprised that you've lost your phone!
