dont think theres a particular reason tbh, its just the goto colour, just like red for a ferrari. could be wrong though.
 
It's to do with the type of produce they farm.

I'd suspect that the colouring of tractors is usually down to manufacturers offering a fairly limited range of colour options, probably based on previous demand. There may also be an element of certain colours being associated with certain manufacturers e.g. Fords are often blue, John Deere tractors are often green etc.

This. I think manufacturers tend to have set colours so they become part of the brand and can be easily identified, e.g. John Deere = green, Ford = blue, Massey Ferguson = red etc.
 
Because it's just a tool to do a job and most farmers don't really care if it looks pretty?

Would you buy a spade that was a nice red or one that was well built and reliable?
