Hi folks,

Have ordered the following motherboard along with a Crucial M4:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-183-MS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

I read a review stating that two of the SATA 6GB/s ports were controlled by a Marvell controller, and the other two aren't.

So the question is where should I be plugging in my Crucial M4? I recall reading somewhere that the Marvell SATA controllers weren't up to too much, do correct me if I'm wrong..

Thanks :)

Brilliant, thanks again stulid

EDIT: I am also going to be running two Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB drives in RAID 0. Would I see any benefit of plugging them into the Marvell SATA6 ports, or will I just use Intel's SATA3 ports?

You won't notice any benefit from using SATA 3 ports of any description.

Your HDD's don't get anywhere near saturating the bandwidth of SATA 2.

really? so how come my Crucial C4 gets 20% better scores when benchmarking a Marvel SATA-III port than an Intel SATA-II?

aaah sorry my bad, i just thought we were still talking about SSD since the OP only originally said he's ordered a Crucial M4
