I just can't help but take the BBC with a pinch of sceptical salt these days.
Still better than all American news agencies put together, we can at least celebrate that.

That's hardly an achievement lol
Al Jazeera is still much more credible than most IMO
As the world continues to wonder just where Gadhafi is hiding, things in Libya aren’t looking very promising considering Libyan rebel leader, Islamist Abdel Hakim Belhaj, is a founding member of an international terrorist organization listed by the U.S. State Department. From the Daily Beast:
Belhaj is a founding member and former leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), which is listed by both the U.S. State Department and the British Home Office as an international terrorist organization. Several past or present LIFG members have held prominent positions in al Qaeda, including operations chief Atiyah Abd al-Rahman, who was recently killed in a CIA drone attack. The LIFG is hardly Libya’s only militant Islamist force, but it’s easily the biggest and very possibly the most dangerous.
This is quite interesting.

Oh dear.
British intelligence and security service interest in Libya has focused for 20 years on the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), whether it was opposing Muammar Gaddafi and working with al-Qaida, later renouncing its old jihadi worldview
the LIFG produced a 400-page theological document entitled Corrective Studies explaining its renunciation of violence.
David Cameron has just said that Libya threatened our national security, how exactly?
Lockerbie bombing, arming the IRA with enough weapons to fight a war?
as for arming terrorist, the UK has armed and trained "freedom fighter" all over the world.

Nice to see we are securing our interests.![]()
[TW]Fox;20157377 said:We already had oil deals... this campaign has done more harm than good oil wise given the massive price increases and lack of supply and the fact we had plenty of contracts which would have been maintained had we done nothing..
Ok, seriously, im lost now, between all the anti Gaddafi propaganda we are being spoon fed and the anti NATO propaganda coming out of Libya the must be some truth but I just cant tell what's what any more
The rebels claim they have 80% of the country yet they obviously have much less than that and they claim everything is going fine with their siege of Sirte yet we have seen videos of armoured columns of loyalist troops/tanks rolling into Sirte to back up the loyalist fighters there, this civil war is clearly far from over despite what our media tell us yet its so hard to find out what is actually happening :S

Given that the NTC is failing to grip the country others are muscling in with their version of what the new Libya's identity should look like.
Islamic hard-liners have attacked half a dozen shrines in the Tunis area belonging to a Muslim sect they regard as practicing 'Black magic'.
The targets were Sufis, a mystical order which puts faith in contemplation, chanting, and is one of the more 'liberal' wings of Islamic belief.
