guys and girls, i have noticed that over the last couple of months there has been more and more talk and links to competitors in this forum. it isn’t well moderated in here and i am not trying to do the mods job, nor do i rtm the posts, but out of respect to OcUK and us on here who post to help out could this be curtailed?

talk of laptops brands are ok eg, lenovo, dell, clevo etc but the resellers including online and highstreet ones aren’t since they are competitors to OcUK. the exception to this has been sales that can be made direct through the manufacturers such as the lenovo store, hp store and dell.

cheers

you may well be right, although if one is classed as a competitor, then all should be including the likes of dell/hp etc - ocuk has a small range of very specific laptops - surely they are only competitors if they sell the same products?

He was on about highstreet restailers/resellers, who most likely sell computer equipment as well, and are labelled competitors throughout the forum.

The likes on Manufacturers like Dell etc who don't particularly have retail stores but are internet based are alright to be mentioned, and linked AFAIK.

well a lot of the links of recent to resellers or system builders are competitors or counted as such in other forums

i have often wondered about the manufacturer direct issue but the precedent was set long ago on that one.

every so often the rules get re-enforced to the letter and the ban hammer hits so this thread is just a pre-emptive to avoid this

mrk1@1 for don!!!!

now, if only his knowledge of laptops and hardware went beyond recommending the 4320s probook :p

lol, glad you are enjoying your two weeks in florida so much you can find time to post on here :)

and my knowledge goes well beyon the probook, hence why i recommend it

really, because i know of at least two other laptops with better spec for less money, 1 of which is an hp product ;)

Not always about better spec for less money, could be a factor of many other things; screen size, resolution, feel of the keyboard, overall performance, weight, as well as battery life. :p

Oh, and build quality :)

:p
