the IBM PC didn't come until '81. And it didn't really become the standard til a few years after that.

The PC Gaming Master Race had to move from other platforms naturally :D

That I can agree :p

Since moving to my first custom built PC 1.5 years ago, I have hardly touched PS3

Now in the PC gaming master race, how many noobs will there be aswell? :p

One thing worriying is the same team that made BC2:Nam are working on the Back to Karkand expansion. The hitbox issues on hueys in nam are still unfixed, 9 months after release. Just hope whatever derp was responsible for that is sitting in a corner with a dunce hat on his dome.

the same corner that the devs who wrote patch 1.02 for battlefield 2 that had to be officially recalled and taken off the servers because it went through "testing" *cough BS *cough* and introduced more bugs than it fixed ?

yeah right. Welcome to Battlefield son.

Anyone else think theyre watching a cod montage while watching this? Just goes to show how potent the weapons were in the alpha. Might want to mute the video as the "music" is pretty ****.

no ?

COD is the complete opposite.

It takes loads of bullets to take down your opponent.

Im talking about the rambo styled gameplay, 1 guy taking out tons of opponents in a game thats supposed to be about teamwork. Yeah its a montage but the amount of kills he got from a single mag was a little OTT to say the least.

As for cod taking "loads" of bullets to down an opponent, i would doubt that 4-6 would be defined as "loads". That seems to be the number it takes in black ops, weapon dependant.

That's what happens when you get a skill imbalance.

No matter what the game, if you are somebody experienced and talented and come across a server full of people who aren't (journalists for example) your always going to be able to rip them a new one and go on the rampage

It doesn't mean there is something wrong with the game.

Most of those kills the opponents were running at a sniper in open ground, what did they expect would happen. A decent player would be getting in some cover, and not attempting to run head on at a sniper in the open.

As for 4 bullets, that's how many bullets that hit that take to kill. Players will usually fire more than that, but only have 4 of say, 10 hit.

You're seeing ruskis in your soup. That is to say you are seeing things because you want to see them. This game isn't COD.

Funny that as i played the alpha and on the feedback forum weapons damage was one of the more hotly debated topics, many felt the damage was like playing BC2 in hardcore mode, but most of the complaints were abated when demize stepped in to say that the values of damage had been changed and the build was several weeks old at that point. And its apparently been tweaked further since that point with the Alpha feedback. Not even sure why you're referencing the sniper shots, it should be VASTLY obvious to just about anyone what part in the video im mainly taling about.

Would be a hell of a lot worse of a game if every shot got the hit, 4-6 shots or thereabouts on automatic weapons isnt a massive amount, its just the fact that people seem to spend time spraying makes them think that it takes a ton of shots to drop someone.

I've been playing battlefield for atleast 7 years now ever since i was a young lad. I have to say i think i prefer the new powerful guns. Yes yes i know "run and gun" but jusy try not to be cannon fodder by walking like a drunkard totally unaware down a narrow corridoor/alley.

Battlefield games of old (1942, vietnam, 2142 and bf2) all had such bad hit reg and damage it was a joke. Honestly, i played BF2 a few days ago to remind me of the glory days and all it did was give me the keyboard rage. Stand about 5 meters away from someone with a sniper rifle and its hit or miss

Still awesome games though. I think BF3 will still be arcade/realistic but this time you'll be punished for taking your eye off the ball so to speak :)

.

SO hang on

You are arguing to make the game more realistic, it should take MORE bullets to take you down ?

Huh ?

BF2 was never like that. it was the same in BF2 that it only needed a good bullet to the head or two to take somebody down. Thats more realistic. Not the other way round.

Problem with the alpha was lack of recoil and deviation on the assault weapons, in BF2 spray and pray did not get you far, in the alpha you could spray and pray and get multiple kills at close to medium range. Hopefully there will be some more recoil added for the beta so less of the laser like shooting with assault and light machine guns.
