hi guys , i need some advice , i am wanting to buy another graphics card to run with my Asus ATI Radeon HD 6950 DirectCU II 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card , with the offers on this week i don't know which one to purchase and what would be compatible , money wise i have £250 to spend , the card i was looking at is

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 "Dual Fan Edition" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE DIRT3 & Deus Ex Games @ £199.99 inc VAT

or the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 TOXIC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE DIRT3 & Deus Ex Games @ £239.99 inc VAT

any advice would be appreciated

Any of the cards will work in crossfire fine with your card. You can go for the cheapest to save a bit of cash, so I guess that would be the Dual Fan edition on offer this week.

thanks for your reply ,i have gone with the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 TOXIC , later on i will get another one to have them matched and sell the Asus

i am going back to water cooling so hopefully i will be able to get full cover blocks for the two g/cards

Full cover blocks are mostly made for reference design cards with availability on non-reference cards being limited.

You should check out the availability of full cover blocks before buying a card.

You can check out the availability of EK blocks here.

An EK full cover block is available for the Sapphire Toxic but not for the Sapphire Dual Fan Edition or the Asus Direct CU II.

Edit

It seems you're planning on getting the TOXIC and then selling the Asus and getting a second TOXIC so you should be OK.
