I am thinking about an upgrade for BF3, like other people reading this thread (see signature). I only have an ATI 4850. It runs BFBC2 fine. I run a 1280 x 1024 monitor, and get a fair frame rate at medium quality. Not been following the graphics card debate, so two questions for you:

1) Is Nivda better these days for effects and lighting (or does that really matter anyway). If it's 2% better, then ATI is fine for my needs.

2) Would this be a reasonable upgrade to get DirectX 11 Support with my set up. I'm happy if I can get medium graphics with all lighting and 30fps on my 1280 x 1024 monitor.

I know the specs are not out for BF3. I am doing a winter upgrade later replacing my motherboard, ram and CPU to quad core. I'll do that after the beta.

Thanks for your time. I know this gets asked a lot around the forums. We bow to your forum geekyness.

Well I'm going to have a crack at it with that spec @2560x1440 so I'll let you know how I get on. I'm thinking medium seagull with some high.
