Hello,
i've built my new rig with an i7 2600k and 16gb corsair vengeance ram.
After setting up the system and updating to all the latest components i have a couple of questions. If someone owns the same board I would be happy to hear his opinions.
1) The post screen (the one that shows up when you disable the boot logo screen) appears for only a fraction of a second and goes away. Why is that? Can i get it to stay a bit longer so that i can see what it actually says?
2) I had virtu disabled and after i installed windows and updated bios, msi utilities, etc i decided to enable it in d-mode. The issue that came up is after the system rebooted and the new video hardware (the intel one) was found.
I used both the dvd that came with the msi board and the vga section was still greyed out.
I used the liveupdate utility and it still did not request that i need vga drivers.
Why is that?
3) I ended up installing the driver in the SVGA folder of the DVD and the LucidVirtu drivers. Is that all i need?
4) Is the liveupdate a bit buggy? After i updated all i needed it still didn't see that clockbios ii had been updated from 1.0.007 to 1.0.018.
5) The CPU Phase Control in the BIOS should be set to APS mode or Intel SVID mode and why? Any other changes i should make to the bios that allow better use of the sandybridge platform?
Regards
