Gears of War 3 Dated (Official blah blah)

Seriously 3.0 is never going to be awarded without boosting in the life of the xbox360.

After having a look at some of the oynx medals requirements I will give that a miss, people are estimating boosting it will take 200 hours, let alone in normal play.

I think it's great you can rank up in private matches now and get all the unlocks as you would in public ranked matches. You can now get a group of 10 friends and have fun killing each other while ranking up.
 
I think ranking in private matches is just silly. It's just giving people the opportunity to boost. If there are some stupid medals that you want then you can just go into a private game and set up whatever challenge it is.

True, I suppose CoD could do with something like this then leave all of the other people that want to play the game properly to do so without having to worry about boosters ruining games for everyone else.

Yes which is a great idea, keep the people that want to boost in their own little lobby for a 100 point achievement that will take them over 200 hours boosting. Have you seen the list for oynx medals, it's huge....

If they want to waste time going for that better off in their own lobbies than mine like in MW2.

Some of the best fun I have had this generation is with 8 or 10 of us playing against each other but that stopped when people became obsessed with ranking up that could only be done in public matches.

I prefer this way, scoreboards and leaderboards are a waste of space anyway. Nothing is as much funnas stamping on a friends head rather than some random.

Aye but you would think that one of the people would have a decent enough connection to host 8 players or so. Not that much of a push on a modern day connection is it?

I think they have done that on purpose tbh. A level 50 achievement for ranking up and then no more until level 100 and a whole heap of medals that take thousands of games. A masterstroke in my opinion that will keep boosters going for an achievement for a year :D
 
I was just in Morrisons doing the weekly shopping, and was very pleased to see GeOW3 on the shelf for £36.99! Impulse took over and I thought I'd give it a go..

Man, I remember being impressed by the original GeOW, but this is so much better, I kind of regret missing out GeOW 2 now!
 
No moments yet like the beserker or Raam. Only just finished Act 1 and about to start 2. It looks good and plays well but nothing you aint seen before only easier.

Before the AI team mates were poo, this time having 3 of them they mop up fast. That's always the trouble with 4 player co-op getting the skill level balance right across a game that can be played on your own or with 3 mates.

Enjoying it so far and the MP is excellent although very tough on your own in team games.
 
First two acts bored me to tears tbh. Nothing new and for 10 levels you do exactly the same thing. Worst two acts of all the 3 games put together.

First chapter of Act 3 is absolutely well er epic. Felt exactly how Gears should feel, back to the wall getting pushed back. I hope it continues to ramp up now :)

More than likely, I have monday off so will likely crack it out. :D

Nah I have all the other stuff to do as well, 4 player co-op on insane and beast and horde. I fancy getting into the MP this time around as I liked the beta and loved gears 1 private matches.
 
Im hearing everything that i want to hear so far that its great amazing etc and the one thing i knew i would here was "The end boss is cheap", The last boss in gears2 was dire, I did hope that Gears3 had some sort of epic finale boss but im hearing it doesnt :(

I don't like the online MP but I'd play private matches, but I doubt those will happen.

We tried private matches with Gears 2 but it lasted like a week because all anyone did was complain about wanting to play against randoms when the online didn't work, so everyone eventually buggered off back to CoD4 and Krono, Miss K and me went back to Halo 3.
