CORSAIR H70/H100 replacement fans

I prefer the Akasa Venom fans which I have fitted to my H70, as it has PWM control, will allow the fans to spin down when the system is idle and speed up when required.

You can do that with 3-pins fans too can't you? As long as you're motherboard/BIOS has the option to control fans by voltage instead of PWM?

Out of interest, what temps have you been getting with Venom? I have an Apache fan currently connected (4-pin) to the rad and powered through the motherboard. It can't connect to the 3-pin output from the kuhler and so far it doesn't seem to be doing much cooling. Thats why I opted for the Gentle Typhoon (3-pin).

You can't connect your Apache to the Kuhler? I've got a 920 with two vipers on it, cooling a 4.3 Ghz SB, always stays below 60 (average max of 55) even after its been gaming all day, and that's with the fans at relatively low speed.

I know, 920 is the fancy one :D. The 620 is only 3 pin, I've just tried the Gentle Typhoon at 1770rpm and its really quiet for its speed. You can hear them but you'd have to be close. They're inaudible over the stock Corsair 600t fan lol. Going to get rid of them soon.

I'll be replacing mine with Gentle typhoons (1850) I reckon. Seem to have good performance-noise ratio.
