Would prefer a people carrier/estate/square hatchback style to make it easier getting the dog in and out, the lower the bootlip the better.

Quite tempted by a C-Max, Fabia estate, Zafira, Focus estate, etc.

I do less than 5k per year, but would still like something reasonably economical, not too big, and preferably reliable of course! Cheers.

PS, won't actually be buying it until after Christmas, but I'd like to test drive a few before the snow comes, lol!

The dog in question is a 6st Olde English Bulldogge, who doesn't take too kindly to climbing anywhere (nor I to lifting him anywhere!), or being squashed into a small hatch, so too small a car wouldn't be practical.

I don't really want anything bigger than my current Primera.

Sigh. Does he strike you as the type who needs or wants the costs associated with a 220bhp 3 litre V6?

This is OcUK don't forget, everyone needs a performance car

Thanks for the replies.

I definitely like the look of the C-Max, mate's mam and dad have got a TDCi one and they love it.

Spotted this one on Autotrader, only 30 miles away too, so I might go take it for a test drive at the weekend.

That Focus estate looks ideal too, will see if there's a decent one locally to take for a spin.

My godfather has a C-Max and loves it. And the Focus has always been class leading.

So i'd be choosing between a focus estate and a c-max myself.
