What good and bad traits have you inherited or aquired from your parents? I was just thinking, I seem to have got all the bad traits/habits from them, and my sister has all the good ones. Dad's stubbornness combined with mother's shyness, fail.

From my dad i got his stubborness and from my mum i got her ability to just say what needs to be said without holding back and being far to brutally honest at times lol.

Need to travel, curiosity, ease at meeting new people, taking whatever comes and willingness to make stuff up are from my Dad. Biggest one from my Mum is a healthy dose of caution before leaping in to something myself, though that can be outweighed...

Sometimes I feel I'm so much like my dad, and then sometimes I feel I'm so different to the whole of my family that I think maybe I was adopted.

I get my temper from my father.. I'm fairly relaxed and laid back up to a point then it's like falling off a cliff. I can control it much better than when i was younger.

I can be quite thoughtless.. I get that from my mother.

I can be a right grumpy bugger for no apparent reason. I got that from my father

And I have little patience for people who ask for help or advice and then don't want to listen to a word you have to say. I got that from my mother. I believe the saying is I don't suffer fools lightly.

Also if I know I am right I will argue the point till I am blue in the face. And I mean know I am right not think I am right. in other words I have valid proof to back up what I am saying, but at the same time if the other person produces proof that my point is wrong then I am the first to admit that I am wrong.

That's a combination trait from both parents, I got the stick to my guns from my father and admit when I am wrong from my mother.

I also find myself saying to my daughter things like: "Say thank you, it costs nothing to be polite" and think OMG I sound just like my mother.
