Gears of War 3 Dated (Official blah blah)

Has anyone else played the campaign before the update came out and now the update has been applied the campaign game save says it corrupted every time you turn the game on?
 
Friend who order from Shopto has arrived also, Regarding peoples comments on GAME im not a massive fan either but when there only ones with Epic edition nto much choice, Same how there gettign special edition of rage which is same price as normal so it makes sense at times to get stuff from them even if they are crap now.
 
I love the fact that due to the new disc format this game uses the pirates can't play it :D

Observed from the numbers online at any given time, it's true as well.
 
I pre-ordered mine from game as soon as i was able to in the hope it would arrive at least the day before release (today) because I don't work Mondays but unfortunately i'll be doing 12hr shifts for the next 3 days, so a day wasted :(

indeed, amazing what a decent developer like Epic can do if you give them a good amount of time to do it, Gears I and II were pretty stunning looking games as well, better than most. :)

I had this all over my Legendary Edition and the Console.

I'm also waiting on the Epic Edition from Game. Was told it had shipped last Tuesday.

Problem is they were the only ones selling the Epic edition if you wanted that you really didn't have a choice. Had I not been fussed about getting that I'd of gone with Tesco with the free MS points
 
Aye, I used to love Game but since the new website design I have switched to ShopTo.
The iPhone App, the option of paying for it outright straight away even when its a pre-order, and the fact that my last two pre-orders from them arrived early on Wednesday is fantastic.

I only use Game now for the versions that you cant get anywhere else.

IE: Gears of War 3 Epic Edition
Forza 4 Limited Edition
Star Wars: The Old Republic.

I wouldnt use Gamestation either as they're owned by Game.
 
Finished! That's my normal collectable run done. Now to co-op and insane.

The story this time was much better than the game, especially the end. They did make this one far easier. In the others you split up and were alone so if you downed you died. In this you always have someone with you.

It was enjoyable but the first two acts are a chore, they seem to go on forever doing nothing new.

The final 3 acts are pretty good with some excellent battles. It seems they wanted to make the longest gears yet so padded the backside out of Acts 1 and 2.

It's missing the feeling you got the first time you battled Raam, came across the wretches or skorge.

The game is missing tricky sections you had in Gears like the underground base fighting the Therons or Holding the fuel station. It has a much better end boss than gears 2 though.

There's very little new in this other than adding imulsion to everything that went before. That said I'm still wanting more. Not the best of the 3 as a single player experience but definately doesn't seem built for that this time at all. The AI is far too good and the locusts still doing the dumb jumping out of cover and back again.

Amazing what they have fitted on the disc though. :)
 
Kind of wish it hadn't come today, I'm revising today for a Microsoft exam tomorrow and all I'm thinking about is playing this game I didn't even want a week ago!!
 
Got mine on Saturday and think its bloody brilliant.

Agree with some of the points Danny mentioned but I'm still yet to finish it so can't make any judgements just yet.

Played the beta and wasn't overly impressed tbh but the whole game now, both single and multiplayer feels extremely well refined.

Good stuff imo.
 
Got mine today from Zavvi.....shocking its day early from them. Will get down to business later tonight. Need to eat my dinner first:)
 
Pah at Game!

Last straw with them really. Couldn't find an easy way to cancel a part delivered order so sent a ranting message to them (Having been a loyal customer for best part of a decade) explaining why they are generally useless these days.

Reset the lot up with Shopto, hope they are as good as someone above said!
 
To be fair to Game the launch day is tomorrow, you can't be angry that they don't send it early. It's pot luck sometimes who sends it early. You will cancel your orders only to find the next game from them is ealier than the rest.
