Gears of War 3 Dated (Official blah blah)

Got mine yesterday so started with the solo campaign...not a fan of online playing so once im done with the solo campaign ill be taking it for a trade in.

So far so meh really...not really anything special GOW3...hopefully this will be the end of the franchise as i cant see them doing anything else.
 
Wow, I seemed to have ordered this is january from Zavvi without remembering, only realised when they sent me a DLC code today. The order hasnt even despatched yet. I got my Tescos order Saturday. Zavvi will never get my pre order business!

My mate ordered from Zavvi. He got a dispatch email on friday and still hasn't received the game yet. He's not happy!

I've been playing 4 player co-op today. Campaign is good but bloody hard in some parts!
I'm rather disappointed with the lack of options in private matches. There were loads in gears 1 - map cycle,what maps you wanted to play,changing players between matches,weapon swapping - now they've taken near enough all of it out. You can't even swap weapons anymore or choose if the weapons cycle or not!

In all fairness it's never been that spectacular a game - it's simply been bigged up by Epic and Microsoft as they needed something to sit alongside Halo.

I'll always remember Gears for the horrific amount of slow loading textures :o

The characters were never particularly memorable and the story not quite there.

On the plus side, it big have excellent weapons and was undeniably fun to play.

Personally, i disagree 100% with everything you said in regards to the story. I thought it was awesome.

Let me clarify - I'm not saying the story was bad, I'm saying the execution was terrible. The first game I seriously thought I'd skipped something as it was almost as if they ran out of time and had to string sections together to finish in time.
 
Yeah I remember some of the textures "popping up/out" whilst playing in previous games, not noticed any of it here tho, I did install to HDD.

Still not a peep outta Zavvi lol
