Osram Silverstar, Osram Nightbreaker or Philips Xtreme Power?

Need to upgrade the bulbs in the wifes car, especially on dip and was wondering what would be the best for price/performance out of the above three?. Or is there anything out there better?.
:)

I would go for the philips, purely because night breakers, well, break. Far too easily! They do not last very long at all, and the difference is very small.

Had night breakers in my car for about a year and half now, they're still working fine.
They're not the brightest though so i don't think i'd recomend them on that point.

I think it's a case of a lot die prematurely compared to other good bulbs. I had H4 nightbreakers in my focus for 6 months before I sold it and they didn't die in that time.

Check she's getting decent voltage at the bulb first, otherwise uprating the bulbs is a wasted effort.

did you buy your nightbreakers off ebay?

i got some off ebay they looked genuine but were actually dimmer then the bulbs i replaced, ended up going to eurocarparts paying full price but they were very good and well worth it

Nope, bought from a website, couple of times, but have no idea which one!
They do have a reduced life compared to other uprated bulbs, there have been a few threads on here about them in the past. The only difference I could see between them and the philips ones were a different light colour. This can give a different perception without changing the lux value.
