1.5 gb and 3gb gtx 580.

NVIDIA officially does not support SLI of cards with different memory size. According to http://www.slizone.com/page/slizone_faq.html:

Can I mix and match graphics cards with different sizes of memory?
No. For example, an XXXGT 512MB cannot be paired with a XXXGT 1GB in an SLI configuration.

If you install a GTX580 1.5GB and a GTX580 3GB into the same rig, you wouldn't be able to see the SLI option in the driver control panel. However there is a hack to enable the SLI option there, called the Coolbits registry hack, which is a hidden function from NVIDIA. Just follow the steps mentioned in that. You'll only have 1.5GB vram per GPU effective in such way.

Well thats definatly wrong because i have in the past paired a 320Mb 8800GTS with a 640Mb one. They must have changed this very recently. I suspect they changed it to stop people trying to SLI a 768Mb and a 1Gb 460 as they vary on more than just the RAM size.

Evga says u can't either, there was a couple of threads over on their forums about it and the tech's said it was not possible, i personally would sell the 1.5Gb and get a pair of 3Gb cards or get another 1.5Gb card and sell em both later and get 3Gb 680's :P

well i just brought 3gb version, it is this one, so my plan is now to sell my 1.5gb vserion and the waterblock as well..

I've got to make a post in the watercooling sections now as i do not know what waterblock will fit this card...

The 1.5Gb waterblocks fit the 3GB cards if they are reference, only difference is higher density memory modules, i had a 1.5GB card and have done the same as u really, i bought a pair of 3Gb cards and another Koolance block and then sold the 1.5Gb card with it's reference cooler back on.

Edit: Just noticed the link u posted to the card, not sure who makes blocks that fit on thoes non-reference cards.
