I've just got to horde 32 and had to quit. I'm going blind due to playing it for three hours non-stop.

True, but I kinda like the way you can pick it up for a quick 20 minute game unlike horde where you had to invest a fair amount of time to get to wave 50. That said not played 2.0 yet, waiting to finish the campaign.
3 hours? That it?
This game is really very good online. It's quicker than Gears 2,shotguns actually work,there's no lag.
My only real gripes are:
1)Lack of private match custimisation
2)They've reduced the amount of round in execution/warzone to 3
3)You can't talk to other players on the other team between rounds or when you're dead. Very annoying in private games when you want to rib your mates when you kill them.

They need to remove the bots. They're awful!
Especially when it's a round of humans vs bots, it's just easy exp.
Earlier a bot instead of shooting it decided to walk past enemy and pick up a smoke grenade, wtf.. worst a.i. everrrrrrr

Best mode is too easy, my first (second if you count the lolshotgun problem in multiplayer, again ..) gripe of this game.
Hardest difficulty, 2 of us who've finished gears 1 + 2 on hardest difficulty + 2 guys new to the series and completed through without any problems.

Been playing Horde, has anyone noticed that when you're 'downed' the enemy aren't quite as eager to finish you off as they used to be?
I'm sure in Gears 2 if you were downed near an enemy, you could kiss your life goodbye. In this they tend to run past you a lot.
Maybe it's 'cause I've only played the lower waves so far (up to 20); perhaps they get more aggressive later on?

I like some of the tweaks they've made to the maps compared to the Beta.
Trenches is MUCH better now there are back entrances to each side, and the tunnel down the middle. In the Beta that map was full of choke points.
Weapon balance has certainly been tweaked as well, Gnasher is no where near as powerful as in the Beta, and the Retro Lancer seems weaker as well.
Can't wait to get back and play some more

Either that Unreal engine hasn't improved graphically from what I've seen in the early Acts (only an hour into it), or the 360's hardware is hampering things on the visual front. I swear Gears 1 looked better...
Anyway, its GoW again, which I love. Had to burst out laughing at Dom's EPIC BEARD though, and his comments about his tomatoes being ruined early on in.

Certain objects in Gears 3 are less detailed because there's way more going on in each scene then in Gears 1 on the whole.
Overall it is an improvement though.

Anyone tried playing in 3D ?
RE: Graphics, Alpherah has it spot on. There's several points where the fights (only played it 4 player coop) are absolutely mental. SO much going on, weapons going off left right and centre and just general carnage, and this game's framerate doesn't fluster at all. VERY well optimised, and they've definitely focused on the important details. The player character textures are spot on, and as long as you don't go upclose to examine random objects on the floor, you won't even notice.
Actually felt tearful at one point of the story though! I can't believe how cinematic and evoking they've managed to make this game Such an improvement on everything they've done before.
Only parts I'm not fond of are the crappy on rails shooter sections.

Defo an graphical improvement as is running on Unreal Engine 3.5. Noticed it more on Act 2 when you're outside fighting, less slow down and less texture pop in.
The only thing I dont like is when the game is saving you're progress and it freezes sometimes after heavy battle scences, makes me think my console is about to break but thats probably because Im used to not seeing that when playing PC games.

Because I bought it and they ran the instore offer of £28 if you buy 2100 points they are offering me £6 off 2100 points
Not bad as I bought the game from them months ago for £33 and then 2100 points for £11
They will be getting my business again

Just bought this from HMV for £36.99, its the basic version and the contents seem a bit bare. I received a very thin manual and a transfer sticker of some type. This doesn't require a code for online play does it? I'm worried that I didn't get the full contents.

They offered me a £3.01 coupon presumably because I paid £38 for game + 800 msp. Very happy also - delivered on the saturday, paid £38 with 800 points.
Thats it - a rubbish 3 page "manual" and stickers, no online code needed.
