My X8's battery has recently decided it's going to have difficulty holding a charge for more than a day.
Yesterday it was fully charged in the afternoon and by this morning it was completely flat (as in turned off due to no battery flat). Barely even used it during that time so it was pretty much just sat on standby.

Wifi is turned off, the 3g signal in my area is shocking so its often swapping between 3 and 2g (I'm on 3 network). Theres no unusual apps running as i use task killer to close everything to save memory.

Phone is only 8-9 months old, worth taking it back to the 3 shop or will they just fob me off?

take it back under warranty and try to get a new battery out of them. Worst comes to worst you can buy one?

Thats your problem there mate...the phone constantly flipping between 3G and 2G is killing your battery...even on my blackberry 9900, i find if my phone switches between 3G and 2G, my battery doesnt last long.

Switch your settings to 2G only and see if that helps...if not then get a replacement or get a better network that has

Sadly as its from 3 they've "tweaked" the option and you can only force it to stay on 3g which doesn't really help. Never used to be this bad although the signal in the house hasn't changed.

Taking it back to the shop tomorrow probably and see what they say. If they blame the signal issue i'll just have to press for a refund because it's getting silly now.

It's locked to 3 (and seems to be a complete pain in the backside to unlock unless i chance my luck with the customer service from hell again) so i can't even try it on a different network to rule out the signal issue.

Open to suggestions on places that are decent for buying a new battery as well.

If it's new and within the refund period, I'd probably take it back. I have an X8 and use it on 3, in an area with good 3G, it lasts over a day with music listening and wifi on.

I did flash a custom rom on mine though, but half a day is ridiculous

I have a X8 on O2 its mostly stuck on GPRS but it does flip over to faster speeds when I m out and about and it lasts for over 36 hours if not used I e a few texts, thats with wi fi turned off never really using hardly anything on the phone
