Quick Question: BenQ XL2410T 24" (Issues with tearing))

What kind of framerate are you running when you notice it? If you can bare the input lag a bit of Vsync should sort it. Some monitors are just more prone to this than others. I can't say I noticed particular problems with this on the XL2410T but when a 120Hz monitors tares it seems more 'aggressive' and noticeable for some reason.

Also if it is frequent and seems independent of frame-rate it could be an SLI or Crossfire issue. Being a Don I'm sure you have quite a beefy setup ;). Try disabling SLI/Crossfire and seeing if it helps.

5UB having owned the XL2410T for a while now would you recommend this monitor for gaming and browsing the web?

I got this monitor last Saturday over an IPS. Although I haven't seen the IPS (Dell U2412M) in action, I can say 120Hz is a huge upgrade at least for me. I used to get headaches when using the PC for >1 hour, that's all gone now. General browsing the web is just overall less painful; I don't think I can go back to 60Hz. I found it great for gaming also, no noticeable input lag as far as I can say and only noticed screen tearing once or twice.

Took some calibration to get a good picture; it's horrible out of the box. Overall I'm quite pleased! Only downside as I can see is the viewing angles, as with all TN panels. Still have yet to try out 3D...heard it's quite fun on WoW.

Still tempted to get a IPS for watching movies though :D

Really??! I have the exact same issue with all 60hz monitors. I get a headache after an hour or so gaming/browsing/watching movies. I thought I just had eye trouble lately but come to think of it, the 60hz thing is making more sense in regards to the eye fatigue and headaches. Trouble is once you go 120hz going back to 60hz for work or anything else it's will be even more terrible!:p

I tried reverting back to 60Hz just for kicks and literally felt like throwing up. This is actually pretty good timing, as I'll be writing a ~100 page thesis this year for my Bachelor's so being able to look at the screen without my eyes bleeding is a huge plus :D

Completely agree on the 120Hz thing. I reinstalled Windows the other day, which is set to 60Hz by default, and the lack of smoothness was just shocking. I never noticed it at first, being so used to 60Hz, but now I've been on 120Hz for almost a year (Asus VG236H - 3D is very cool :D), I simply couldn't go back to a 60Hz screen, regardless of colour accuracy or viewing angles. It hurts my eyes.

5UB: a friend of mine has had the XL2410T for some months now. He's never mentioned any tearing, but I'll point him in the direction of this thread. It might be the games you're playing though. I noticed severe screen tearing in Mafia 2 with v sync disabled (in 2D mode), but hardly any in Deus Ex Human Revolution.
