Tried going back to the xbox

There is one the downside however....

if you go round your mates house for a boys night and there's some consol gaming on the go - you get your ass handed to you and the brunt of the banter.

I've only ever managed to be ok on an N64.... never owned another consol and thus am consistently victim of the above point.

I played GoW with my mate online a few years ago on the Xbox 360, first time i played it and i got my ass handed to me, but i also enjoyed the experience.

My point is that after using M&K for a long time without touching a controller i find it quite hard to aim in FPS. The only good thing controllers are good for is Driving games.

No that's what a steering wheel is for. a gamepad is good all round it does fps, driving, fighting games etc pretty well. its not optimal for any but decent enough.

Give it time and you can fps fine with a ps3 pad. codmw2

Jeebus it's only been out 5 years or so hasn't it? :p

And? I am 8 years old, have been playing it since I was 3. Problem? :P

Nah, meant to say I have been playing PS/Consoles for the majority of my life. Had a PS2 since I was 7/8 and then went on a PS3. I used to play PS1 a lot at cousin's house, so pretty much played console for the majority of my life.

Never played PC games as my dad didn't like me playing stuff on his PC and he said I had the Play Station for games.

I do understand most views here, for me, there is no better system. You know what makes it better? FRIENDS! If all your school friends have a PS3, you wouldn't want to be left out by playing PC. And same if you had PS3 and they had PC or XBox.

Ive always owned consoles but PC gaming is what ive always enjoyed the most, until recently that is as all my friends have consoles and I enjoy playing with them in games rather than some randoms.

To be fair other than graphics and FPS I dont think consoles are bad. I can now jump on any platform PC, PS3, XBOX360 and its easy and fluid to play on all of them. Of course if you just jump onto a console having not really spent much time on them your going to be crap and feel the sensitivity aint great.

I just spent £800 on a pc and so far I'm underwhemed. The last time I had a gaming pc was over 10 years ago and to be honest things havent moved on as much as I expected in terms of graphics, game design and optimization/compatibility.

Well what did you expect? You know games are 3D enabled...

I havent played a game on my PS3 and Wii for almost a year now :/.

Blurry low res graphics, bad framerates, limited control options, awful load times, sub-par online play, no mods, more expensive games e.t.c.

It is just not for me i am afraid. Once you have had a top spec PC i just don't see why you would want to go back. The only reason really is the odd excellent exclusive game that you can't get on PC.

The PS3 is now an expensive blu ray player and the Wii is likely to be sold soon.

I will add however that when the consoles are brand new, they can be good. It is always nice to get the latest bit of technology and for those first few months a console can almost match a PC in terms of technological wizardry and graphics. A few years down the line though and they are a bit rubbish.

Begrudge having to upgrade to play the latest games. Console gaming F.T.W..

I begrudge having to pay 10-15 pounds more for a console game....sometimes even double the price!

Shopto for example and F1 2011. £17.86 on PC. £34.85 on PS3! :D

Don't give me that " yeh but i can sell them soon after and make back a lot of the price" because then you are really only renting the game and you may as well sign up to Lovefilm as it would be cheaper

if its single player I just pad...even with my PC i plug in pad and use on big tv for console games.

Just so I can chill in bed.

But for online keys and mouse exclusively

Uncharted 3
Fight night (i like to play)
Heavy Rain

that is all..is it even worth it...ah well I want to play these games

Its nothing to do with skill when its about adapting to a control device and which is inherently less accurate.

And which would be like asking the worlds number one F1 driver to use old tank controls in his F1 car, even after a long time to get used to it he will never be as good.

Never mentioned being as good.

But if everyone is using the same controls, it's the users skill that counts.

No after going from analogue to mouse its very different. I still find the initial few moments tricky getting my bearings. fps on a console is like playing in slow motion

I find playing a fps with a keyboard/mouse boring and easy. The OP was crying because he couldn't play the game with a pad. It has nothing to do with the console or pad.

I much prefer playing FPS on PC as I'm rubbish with a Joypad but it doesn't stop me enjoying exclusives like Killzone and Gears of War on Console :)
