Castle. Coming to the UK when?

Just a heads up season 4 is now available on iTunes (well the first episode) in the UK :D for those who actually pay for their TV shows.

Wasn't too impressed with this premiere, probably the worst episode of Castle so far. The whole script felt rushed and poorly implemented, as if they were trying to cut their losses and move on from something that they didn't know how to deal with properly. If anything, this episode proves (once again) that a show like this is not adequately equipped to deal with deep, sinister conspiracy style story arcs. Castle is stupid, but fun. Take away the fun factor and you're just left with stupidity.

If there is anything positive to say about this episode, it's probably the fact that they've essentially put the main story on hold and the ending scenes indicated that the writers want to return to a lighter tone, without all the rediculously cliched emotional angst and serious (but ultimately laughable) nonsense.

Finally, it didn't help having to see Nathan Fillion fumble about with his huge manboobs showing in every scene - the man needs to hit the gym, big time. It's no wonder, Beckett is reluctant about getting into a relationship with him. :p

Spoiler Warning:

I'm not sure of this episode. Glad its back, but they've sidelined the whole Beckett/Castle thing already by her denying knowledge of what he said and her unable to have the 'relationship she wants' till her mother's killer is brought down. Then we clearly know nothing is going to happen till the end of the arc/season I presume?

I'm not sure I want it to go back to the episodic type now, I'd rather they got this story finished with as her boss Captain Montgomery intended with that envelope (which for some bizarrely didn't reach the intended person months later, when Beckett returned to work).

As long as they don't pull a Bones. :/

Actually, if you watch it again, you'll see that this person got the letter pretty much straight after the shooting. You even see him as a doctor, walking past Castle when he's taking flowers to Beckett in the hospital.

It's a few months later when he contacts Castle, but I'm guessing it took that long because he needed to look over the evidence Montgomery sent him and then act on it.

Will be interesting to see who this character is and what his intentions are.

Ah you're right he did my bad, and yeah I spotted him in the hospital.

Bonus question, what did that man say on the phone near the beginning when he opened up the files and called Washington? He asked for who/what? I couldn't work it out.

He calls the "United States Capitol" and asks for the "Congressional Offices". I'm guessing this means that the conspiracy involves some high level government element, possibly a senator of some sort and this dude with Montgomery's files (whose names seems to be Smith) is someone with some clout amongst these people. The only odd thing was his appearance at the hospital as a doctor, which implies that he is not a public face in the government and probably a member of some secret organisation within it, unless of course, he really is a doctor. Either way, everything at the moment points to him being a 'good' guy.
