What the hell is the point of putting these in your auctions when the most you will knock off the BIN price is a bloody quid!? I probably spend more in electricity going back and forth with offers than I would save accepting your 'Best Offer' price !

A quid can be a fair chunk.....if the but it now was £1.50 or so :D

but I know what ya mean....a quid or two off something that was on for £20 or so..ain't worth the hassle.

If I'm doing an auction these days I often use Buy it Now or Best Offer. If I want to get £X for an item, I'll set the BIN price at 1.25X, then automatically accept offers of X or above, then automatically refuse offers of 0.5X or below. It works pretty well.

And for the record, I agree that it's idiotic to use BIN or BO if you're not actually looking to accept BOs.

What you've done is fair enough. Something else I encounted tonight was someone putting a BIN price of 60 and putting it as bid also with a reserve....of 60...

You need to visit uswitch.com :)

Another reason some people would do that is that sometimes a buyer may have been waiting ages for such an item to come up and gets attached to it, seller keeps declining until they get their price or if they use all offers up the only thing they can do is buy it at the BIN price, and sometimes they usually do if they're fed up of waiting.
