6870X2 over 6950

Any comments on what single card I should get?

Gaming at 1680x1050 - want to max bf3 without dropping below 40-60 fps.

Without any benchmarks its hard to say what performance your going to get in BF3. Why not get 2 regular 6870's and crossfire them and save £40?

Just want a single card as I only have 2 6 pin connectors really don't want to use molex adapters.

With your Phenom II X4 only clocked at 3.6GHz, then the chances are it will dip below 40fps anyway, no matter what graphic card you getting.

I was actually thinking about one of these cards too, but most reviews are complaining they are noisy and use quite a bit of power too. The other thing I don't like about them is they only have 1Gb x 2 ram and their fans are 2 different sized fans for some strange reason.

This. CPU is very important for BFBC2, so I believe the same for BF3.

Only if BF3 not being console port the cpu will be fine.
