So I won an iPad 2. Do I keep it?

To be honest it sounds like a pretty good description of most Touchpad apps I've tried :p

I have to agree actually, most of the ones I've tried aren't really very good at all.

My iPad 2 is an absolute joy to behold in comparison!

Still, like I said, for the money it's good.

I paid around £6 for the Crosswords app by Stand Alone, as the iOS version is a fantastic product. On the Touchpad it freezes up entirely while typing in answers and frequently has a several second delay when tapping a square. It's just a crossword app (that's missing features compared to the iOS version and also not as nice looking), how is it possible to perform so badly?

But as you say, for the price of the Touchpad it was a good deal.

Pfft, call yourself an Android fanboy? That's basic stuff n00b :p

Long press desktop > Shortcuts > Applications > Sky Sports News > drag to news folder (or launcher folder/tab whatever UI you've got etc)

Then.

:D

That would be on an Android tablet though, he's saying you can't do it on IOS :)

Definitely selling this heap of restriction once we've completed our annual exhibitions in October.

Only two reasons really:
- No Flash
- No direct memory access

I just had to Google how to put a PDF on the thing (which is ridiculous that I had to Google that in the first place) and the only options seem to be to email it to yourself (which isn't useful when you have hundreds of such items) and import all of that to iTunes and sync it from there. Only trouble is my PDFs etc are on my work computer and I can only sync with one iTunes which means it's just eradicated all the music I had sync'd from my home laptop. Useless.

Why the hell can't it just pop up as a memory card?!

Because then people would be able to delete things and break it without the help of the lovely iTunes.

I believe you can get software in place of iTunes that allows these things, but if you NEED flash then it isn't going to help much.

Yeah, sadly unless you want severe restrictions on certain things then you can't use things like an Ipad.

PDF's, avi's, MKV's etc. it's all a bit of a pain, but most people just say ignore these rather gaping holes and accept that Apple want to control the data on your device to the N th degree almost.

There wasn't when I last checked. It's still the phone app though. :p

By tablet software, I meant Honeycomb and not Gingerbread.
