I need a graphics card to go with a x6800 C2D.

Will probably be overclocking to around 3.2ghz.

Looking for something which isnt going to be bottlenecked by the CPU, but will still get good fps on new games, and a constant 250fps on COD4 low graphics.

Looking to spend around £60 (second hand)

Thank you

Willing to go second hand? An HD5770 would serve you well. :)

If new, probably one of the nVidia refurbs (9800GT/GTX)?

A bit better yeah but i'd still expect the HD5770 to be:

a) Not hugely slower.
b) Able to plough through CoD4 with no problems.
c) A lot quieter.
d) A lot cooler running.

Any reason for the 250fps when most monitors would only do 60fps max?

Also on terms of minimum frame rate, CPU plays a huge part.

Certain jumps in game can only be made using 250fps, also the guns fire at different speeds. (and recoil acts differently with an AK47).

Can you honestly say you see no difference between 60fps and 250? I certainly can. 60 feels jumpy and not as smooth.
