ok let me clear up the idea of my OP. It's NOT sexual. I don't mean you get a boner looking at a dude, I just mean you would happily indulge in some homo-erotic macho tom foolery with them such as MMA training, bodybuilding or what I've been told happens after Rugga matches. Maybe some Turkish olive oil wrestling. Are Turksih olive oil wrestlers gay? Nope, they are just secure enough to be able to do that sort of near obscenely homoerotic behavior and then go home to their wife or GF.

I know what OP means - I can appreciate a healthy male form, and I think male closeness is a natural part of life.
Also, some people are far too hung up on not interacting with another male beyond a stiff handshake - 'no way man I'm not gonna go in the communal shower or join in the towel-whip war, that's gay'. I think communal showers and suchlike are great.

I think that's sort of all the 'man crush' is for many men - the realisation that another man is very sexually attractive, maybe skillful or excellent in a particular field of work, and that you admire him and aspire to be him in that context.
